Introducing Virtual Private Servers
Question 1: Is your website is too important to put on a low cost shared hosting plan?
Question 2: Can you justify an expensive Dedicated Server?
If the answer to Q1 is YES and the answer to Q2 is NO then you need a Virtual Private Server. VPS (virtual
private server) hosting is a new way of providing the facilities offered with a dedicated server but at a fraction of the cost.
Many people who rent dedicated servers are literally wasting their money. Most of the time the resources used by their websites hardly break the server into any
meaningful use - even for some busy sites. However, there is no other choice but to go dedicated if you needed root access, or to be able to configure your
hosting environment the way you wanted. If you need to customise the way PHP works - you need dedicated. If you need MySQL 4.1 but your host has MySQL 5 installed -
you need dedicated. If you need to install a customised control panel - you need dedicated. Until Now!.
Our VPS software technology basicaly sections a dedicated server into seperate mini servers (or Virtual Private Servers). We call these VE's (Virtual Environments). Each
VE runs a completely self contained distribution of Linux. So if one VE owner logs into their VPS, they will be completely unaware of other users in their VPS.
This is a fantastic way to make sure physical servers are not under utilised. It reduces the cost for the VE owner as they get all the benefits of a true dedicated
server like full root access.
You can reboot the VPS whenever you wish. You can start and stop services. You get your own fixed IP address. You can modify system configuration files. Its a great
system and we are proud to be able to offer you this service today.
